Box and Google Apps are available now!
Welcome to cloud.ucdavis.edu, where you can learn about services and tools to share, store and manage data simply and securely.
Cloud computing offers a new world of access to tools that offer flexibility and versatility. Everything is Internet-based, so you can access all of your data from anywhere in the world, and from any smartphone or computer.
Cloud services at UC Davis include:
- Box.com: Box allows anyone with an account to share files with the people they choose, and collaborate online with colleagues on campus or at other institutions. It offers 50 gigabytes (GB) of space—enough room for about 17,000 digital photos or 225,000 books of 200 pages each. IET will administer and support this service in partnership with several schools and colleges.
- Google Drive: Google’s version of a cloud-based data storage and sharing service, Drive is the home of Google Docs, a suite of productivity applications that offer collaborative editing on documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more. It is linked to Google+, a social networking and videoconferencing service as well as other Google Apps (Sites, Blogger, etc.).
Explore the site to find out about more tools in the UC Davis cloud, including email and collaborative options.
